In February the digital music landscape welcomed a new project: Aux Magazine.
The Aux Magazine was created by Reya Casajus, a Spanish professional with a background in languages, creative writing, and marketing. In October 2023 Reya travelled across Europe to attend different concerts. Along the way she met different individuals who found it strange that a Spanish girl was so interested in the scene. It was during this experience that the founder of the Aux witnessed the challenges faced by small artists striving to make their mark in an industry dominated by big anglo-saxon singers.
This is the reason why Reya wanted to build a digital platform that could help to amplify the voices of small, often overlooked artists within the European music scene. Consequently, she decided to involve Cirus Villamizar, a Madrid-based concert photographer from Venezuela who shared her same passion for indie music and small artists. Thanks to this, the Aux took its first steps in the world of journalism.
As anticipated above, its aim is showcasing the rich tapestry of European artists and the dynamic shows held across the continent. The articles involve multiple genres: from indie to punk, rock and metal always with a focus on underrepresented artists even though more known names may appear as well.
Aux Magazine is a digital space for discovery, celebration and community where you can find news and deeper reviews so that the readers can fully understand the current European indie scene. Reya and Cirus are in a constant development and are planning to introduce new features such as interviews and giveaways to enrich the reader experience.
The Aux Magazine is a true celebration of the European culture and diversity in music. Reya and Cirus are doing a great job and remain committed to championing diversity, creativity and authenticity within the indie music community.
