Turkish singer-songwriter DENIZ has officially released her latest single Limon Aromalı.
We interviewed DENIZ months ago, you can read the interview here. She had anticipated to our readers that she was working on something and, after her first single in English All Is Not Well released this summer, she is back with a new Turkish one called Limon Aromalı.
Limon Aromalı by DENIZ: what's it about?
Limon Aromalı, translated as "Lemon-Flavored", uses the tangy, bittersweet taste of lemon as a metaphor for life’s hardships and the sweetness that characterizes the relief after moments of pain. From the very first notes, listeners are enveloped in a journey that feels both personal and universally relatable.
DENİZ’s vocals shine throughout delicate yet intense weaving between softness and power. Her voice communicates very well the message behind the song: to find beauty in adversity and embrace the strength that comes from it.
Sounds from both East & West
As you can read in the interview, DENIZ is Turkish but she is based in London, where she is dedicating herself professionally to music. The song is a tapestry of this as it unites East and West sounds. Mediterranean influences blend seamlessly with acoustic and electronic instrumentation that is more typical of English speaking countries. This makes the song feel both timeless yet modern.
The interplay between acoustic guitar, piano, flute and electric guitar adds intensity to the song. In particular, the flute introduces a light, airy feel, symbolizing hope and renewal, while the guitars create a dynamic backdrop that grounds the song in both tradition and innovation. The track's progression from gentle, introspective melodies to an intense, climactic bridge feels almost cinematic, inviting listeners to experience the emotional peaks and valleys of its story.
We are happy to see DENIZ shine in her native language in this single. Even if you don't understand Turkish, thanks to this article and to her powerful voice, you'll be able to understand all of its shades. We really suggest you to listen to it!
