Eurovision Song Contest 2025: the female participants

eurovision 2025

Here are the female participants of the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest!

Our team has put together this article to highlight the talent of the women taking the Eurovision stage by storm this year. Last year, we dubbed it Womenvision with 23 female acts. While the number of female performers may have decreased this time around, it remains a Womenvision at heart—it would never be the same without the strong presence of women! (As a music-focused outlet covering a music event, we're of course focusing solely on the music, not the politics).

Sissel - Hallucination

Hallucination by Sissel is a captivating and powerful pop anthem and it’s representing Denmark in the upcoming competition. With its infectious beat and catchy melody, it’s easy to see why it’s making waves. The track explores the intoxicating feeling of being so deeply immersed in someone or something that it feels almost unreal, like a hallucination. The lyrics speak to a sense of wonder, questioning everything the singer once thought was true while hinting at a loss of control that comes with intense emotional experiences. The powerful production behind the song amplifies its emotional impact, with bold beats and dynamic shifts that perfectly mirror the themes of transformation and self-discovery. Hallucination's energetic sound feels both fresh and captivating.

Klavdia - Asteromata

Klavdia represents Greece this year with Asteromata (My Star). The track is deeply emotional and talks about the feelings of longing, memory, love and loss, with the singer's heartfelt lyrics expressing a desire to be reunited with a loved one. The song is entirely in Greek, which adds to its unique charm, and seeing songs in their original languages at the Eurovision always brings something special. The Greek and Mediterranean sounds are preserved, yet beautifully adapted to an electronic style, which gives it an international touch that makes it appealing to global audiences as well. Asteromata is one of the most complete tracks of the competition.

Laika Party - EMMY

Laika Party by EMMY represents Ireland and it is a dance-pop electronic hit! Inspired by Laika, the soviet dog who went to space in 1957 only to meet a tragic fate. In this song EMMY has reimagined this story and dreams of the pup partying endlessly in space, among the stars. Visually, the song taps into 80’s music video aesthetics, filled with a retro-futurism that perfectly fits the outer space theme. With infectious synth beats and upbeat tempos, ‘Laika Party’ has the lively and playful style that we have come to expect from Eurovision entries.

Though EMMY hails from Norway, there’s no doubt the people of Ireland will fall in love with this feel-good, dance-pop banger!

Freedom - Mariam Shengelia

What a power Mariam Shengelia has! With her song Freedom, she will represent Georgia at Eurovision, and I'm speechless. Mariam has a voice that leaves a mark: intense, enveloping, capable of transmitting deep emotions without the need for many artifices. Freedom is a song that hits you, talking about real freedom, the one that is earned through fighting, believing in yourself even when the world tries to tell you who you should be. Mariam Shengelia sings this truth with a natural strength, as if freedom was something flowing through her veins. The lyrics are powerful and uncompromising: it invites us to free ourselves from everything that chains us, to stop being afraid, and to find the courage to truly live. The singer's voice, capable of shifting from sweetness to pure energy, makes everything even more authentic and engaging. With Freedom, Mariam Shengelia brings a message, a mission: to rediscover ourselves, without excuses. And with a voice like hers, trust me, it will be impossible not to listen.

SERVING - Miriana Conte

Who is this diva? That’s exactly what we thought when I listened to Miriana Conte, the singer who will represent Malta at Eurovision. She has an incredible voice—her performances at the song contest will be flawless. Her voice is so clean, vibrant, and full of energy. Miriana Conte is a true music diva, because you can tell that music is an essential part of who she is. She will perform the song Serving. The track carries a very important message—one that shouldn’t be underestimated in these times: to live without letting others influence us, to follow our own energy, and to feel strong and proud of our uniqueness. The song, after all, is clear and straight to the point; it doesn’t beat around the bush: “Why should we let other people decide? When we could be having the time of our lives”. It really doesn’t get any clearer than that—we must love ourselves and take control of our lives, especially by not caring about what people say. Miriana Conte invites us to be ourselves and to say "screw you" to anyone who judges us.

Bur Man Laimi - Tautumeitas

It’s impossible to remain indifferent while listening to Bur Man Laimi by Tautumeitas, the song with which this extraordinary Latvian group brings a burst of energy and tradition into the air. Their voices, so powerful and intertwined, create something magical, a sound that seems to come from another time but with a very modern energy. Bur Man Laim is an anthem of hope, the search for authentic happiness, the kind that is invoked, desired, and built. The song cleverly blends traditional Latvian sounds with contemporary rhythms, managing to be both intense and danceable at the same time. Tautumeitas are true bearers of culture: they manage to make folklore something alive, urgent, and universal. And they do it with vocal power and stage presence that takes your breath away. The message is crystal clear: believe in your own path, in your roots, never forgetting who you really are. And with Bur Man Laimi, Tautumeitas remind us that happiness is not something to wait for, but something to call for loudly.

ICH KOMME - Erika Vikman

The Finnish singer Erika Vikman will represent her country –after first trying in 2020 with her song Cicciolina– with ICH KOMME, a track that openly speaks about finding one's own power through sexual desire. With a German title and the rest of the song in Finnish, Erika displays authenticity and charisma both in her songwriting and her performances.

La Poupée Monte Le Son - Laura Thorn

Laura Thorn is the second representative from Luxembourg since its return to the contest last year, after over 30 years of absence. La Poupée Monte Le Son commemorates an important date in Luxembourg’s Eurovision journey. The song’s title and concept are inspired by Poupée de cire, poupée de son, the song with which France Gall won Eurovision in 1965, 60 years ago. While the original song spoke of feeling like an empty doll manipulated by the music industry, in this new version, the singer is no longer a puppet—she takes control of her own destiny.

ESA DIVA - Melody

Nina Žižić represents Montenegro with Dobrodošli, a song that invites people to embrace hospitality and sharing, and to look to the future with confidence and optimism. The title means Welcome and aims to convey a message of openness towards others, celebrating the importance of encounters between different cultures. With simple yet heartfelt words, Nina encourages overcoming barriers and feeling part of one big family.

GAJA - Justyna Steczkowska

Justyna Steczkowska competes for Poland with the song Gaja, whose title is inspired by the personification of Earth in Greek mythology. Through the lyrics, the artist draws attention to the importance of respecting and protecting our planet, seen as a mother from whom all life originates. The song is a true homage to nature and invites listeners to rediscover the deep bond between humanity and the environment, delivering a message of love and responsibility towards the Earth.

Voyage - Zoë Më

Zoë Më creates and builds her music to transcend cultural boundaries. Voyage represents Switzerland and is a delicate masterpiece that embraces a cinematic and emotional atmosphere. The strings bring a majestic and complete energy that blends with a pleasant and soft ambiance. There is also a moment of climax when, at a certain point, the calm melody reaches a point where it becomes much more energetic. Zoë mentions from the start of the song that her eyes are about to discover the world, and this is exactly what her song represents: it is the beginning of a new era and a completely new experience that makes this musical journey ready to begin.

Zjerm - Shkodra Elektronike

Shkodra Elektronike, the incredible Albanian duo, proudly represents their hometown, transcending across the rest of Europe. The track Zjerm is a contemporary fusion with a very distinctive and traditional vibe. The sounds are clear and perfectly achieved. It features a very solid rhythmic base, enriched with synthesizers and sound effects typical of electronic music. Even the production of the synthesizers, samples and bass has a “house” and “dubstep” style vibe. However, the strings keep the duo’s essence and origin alive, giving the song its sweet and subtle touch.

What The Hell Just Happened? - Remember Monday

What The Hell Just Happened? is the UK’s pop piece for Eurovision! As the first girlband to represent the UK since 1999, Remember Monday delivers the perfect mix of vocals, personality and fun. Having formed in secondary school, the girls have remained a tight-knit and dynamic force throughout the years. When asked about their inspiration for their song, the group discussed how the title reflects the sense of awe as they step into the spotlight, with Eurovision offering them their big break. The song itself blends the theatrical flair of Chappell Roan with classic rock influences like Queen and Elton John, offering us the perfect genre-bending anthem that chronicles the chaos and excitement of a wild night out.

Remember Monday are bursting with potential and there’s no doubt this fun anthem will be a smash hit regardless of the outcome at Eurovision, we can’t wait to see where this opportunity brings them!

Maman - Louane

Representing France, the song is about love, nostalgia and the fear of growing up. Louane sings with a sincere, vibrant voice, without filters, and tells the difficult need for freedom without forgetting the deep bond with those who raised us. Maman is like an open letter, as it speaks of family, dreams and difficult choices. The beauty of Louane is that she manages to be intense with strength and naturalness, without sounding trivial! With Maman, she gives us a truly authentic piece of herself, capable of making us feel emotional with every listen.

New Day Will Rise - Yuval Raphael

New Day Will Rise represents Israel and is sung by Yuval Raphael, written by Keren Peles and produced by Tomer Biran. It is a ballad with a classic chanson atmosphere, enriched by strings and Yuval’s delicate and flawless voice. The song is in three languages: English, French and Hebrew, which gives it an international touch. The song is moving and offers a pleasant listening experience in line with the Eurovision style.
