(Isn't it) Obvious: Alessia Cara's comeback

Alessia Cara Isn't it Obvious

Alessia Cara has just released her latest single, (Isn't it) Obvious, the second song off her fourth album, Love & Hyperbole, set to be released on February 14, 2025.

Born in Brampton to Italian parents, Cara showed an early interest in music, starting to upload covers on YouTube at the age of 13 to overcome her shyness. After signing with Def Jam Recordings, she released her debut album, Know-It-All, in 2015, which featured two of her most well-known songs: Here and Scars To Your Beautiful. This was followed by two other albums, The Pains Of Growing and In The Meantime, an EP titled This Summer, and several important collabs, including Stay ft. Zedd and 1-800-273-8255 with Logic and Khalid.

The meaning behind Isn't it Obvious by Alessia Cara

Preceded by the track Dead Man, released in July of this year, (Isn't it) Obvious addresses the challenges of a long-distance relationship and the doubts that can come with it, often caused by past relationships. The song also features a significant collaboration for the artist: a guitar solo by John Mayer.

The pop-jazz sound is certainly not new for the singer, as heard in her most recent album, In The Meantime. However, her new approach to incorporating these elements into her music suggests that this may be her most mature project to date.

On her socials, Alessia Cara stated, "I'm very happy to finally share this with you and I can't wait for you to hear the rest of what I feel is my best work to date."
