Lady Gaga is back with Harlequin a new musical project tied to her role in Joker: Folie à Deux.

The artist, who portrays Harley Quinn, has released her new album born from the need to further explore the character after filming ended.

Lady Gaga Releases Harlequin, the Harley Quinn inspired album

Gaga stated that she wasn’t ready to leave Harleen Quinzel behind, so she decided to give her new life through music. The album, created with the help of her partner Michael Polansky, consists of 13 tracks, including reinterpretations of classics like Get Happy and That’s Life. However, Gaga added her modern touch, transforming songs like I’ve Got the World on a String into more rock-driven versions, aimed at a new generation of listeners.

Called by Gaga LG6.5, the album falls between her previous pop work and a new musical exploration. The singer calls it a fusion of her artistic identity and that of the Harley Quinn character, a project that challenges musical genres and embraces the chaos and vitality of the character.

For Gaga, Harlequin represents not only a tribute to timeless classics but also a celebration of female complexity, as she explained in an interview. The artist experimented with her voice and various genres, making the album a unique and unconventional sonic experience, much like Harley.

With this album, Gaga continues to demonstrate her ability to reinvent herself, pushing the boundaries of pop and jazz, creating something that fans of both her personas, Gaga and Harley, can enjoy.
