Multidisciplinary artist Laura Pieri released Daughter of Demeter together with its music video.
Laura is from São Paulo, Brazil and her journey to becoming a pop star led her to move to the United States when she was 16.
Daughter of Demeter will be part of her upcoming EP Frankie and its accompanying short film which will be released this summer. She always identified with the goddess Persephone, Demeter's daugher and, consequently, took inspiration from it to give live to this new single.
The song turned out to be singmesmerizing just like a cinematic pop anthem which encapsulates the connection between Laura and Persephone. It offers a glimpse into a narrative of self-discovery and empowerment which can be seen on the music video.
Laura's exploration of identity and personal narrative infuses the song and video with layers of depth and complexity. Blending animation and live action, the video reimagines Persephone as a resilient and ambitious figure, challenging traditional portrayals of her as a passive victim.
Through Laura's lens, Persephone emerges not as a helpless nymph but as a queen who rules both the earthly realm and the Underworld with confidence and grace.
Daughter of Demeter is just the beginning of Laura's career. With the forthcoming EP Frankie, Laura Pieri will invite the listeners into a world of enchantment and empowerment where mythology meets modern days and the journey of self-discovery unfolds with cinematic grandeur.
