Last month, Wet Leg declared they were “so back”, and they’ve been proving it ever since.
The Isle of Wight indie rockers have been teasing fresh music and playing intimate shows, setting the stage for their next chapter. Now, their latest track, Catch These Fists, is officially out, along with the announcement that their second album, Moisturizer, will arrive in July.
Catch These Fists: Wet leg's new single from new album Moisturizer
Catch These Fists is a defiant, dance-punk-infused pace that finds vocalist Rhian Teasdale and bandmate Hester Chambers rejecting late-night pickup artists and belligerent men. Thick basslines, sharp guitars and deadpan lyrics unite in an unpredictable song that is both original and innovative.
Wet Leg have always turned snark into liberation, shrugging off industry expectations while racking up accolades—including a Grammy win. Their music thrives in the space between indifference and catharsis, where sarcasm meets art-punk hooks. Catch These Fists continues that tradition, proving that Wet Leg’s sharp wit and infectious grooves remain as irresistible as ever.
Fans can catch the band frolicking in their hometown in the song’s video or relive the electric energy of their live performance at Brooklyn’s Market Hotel. The video was directed by the band themselves and shot in their native Isle of Wight, drawing inspiration from filmmakers like Ti West and Cameron Crowe, with a nod to their previous clip for Wet Dream.
Moisturizer follows Wet Leg’s 2022 self-titled debut, which took home a handful of Grammys in 2023. Both albums were produced by Dan Carey, and Wet Leg wrote the new LP while living together in the remote seaside town of Southwold, Norfolk. There, they worked by day and watched horror movies by night. “We were just kind of having fun and exploring", said Chambers. “It was very natural that we would write the second record together”, added Teasdale.
